Gainesville Florida Hostel - a few words about our place

We started the zen center and Gainesville Florida hostel because we like people. Folks who travel are usually more interesting than the ones who stay at home. And the ones who stay in hostels when they travel are more interesting than the ones who stay in motels. We are the only hostel in Gainesville.

So we did this as an interesting way to make a living and as a way of building a network. We are located in the heart of Gainesville Florida at 404 SE 2nd Street, right behind the Hippodrome State Theater and across the street from the Sun Center. Everything is within walking distance. We have two buildings with a garden in between them. We can accommodate between 15 and 20 people at one time depending on how many share rooms.

We think of ourselves as a community of persons who are directed toward a simpler life with

tranquility and beauty at its core. We offer a stress-free environment in which to

contemplate and meditate, listen and exchange thoughts and ideas with

interesting persons.

We didn't start calling ourselves the Zen Hostel or the Gainesville Hostel. We actually

opened a zen center. From the beginning, we offered hospitality; people started

calling us the Zen Hostel and the name stuck.
